When the comment option has been enabled for the journal tool we usually see a speech bubble next to the journal. However, this has changed recently and we no longer see the speech bubble and we have to click on the entry to add the comments. It is not very obvious to the person who is trying to add a comment. 

Is there a way we can get the comment icons back?

Hi Rume,

Back in 19.10 we changed how comments are displayed for artefacts to make the display of content more seamless and avoid that pages look too 'blocky', which was a common concern. We introduced the 'Details' mode which allows you to see the number of comments and add your own on artefacts when you are in the mode for assessment or feedback giving. However, these links do not distract those that only want to view the content.

Please refer to the section in the manual for more information. If you want to pull the comment link out like we've had in the past, this can be done but involves changes to the code, which would be a customisation for your site.
