Problems editing pages on OSX Safari
28 September 2015, 22:50
I'm not sure if this is a known issue. OSX Yosemite 10.10.5, Safari 8.0.8 (should all be the latest at the time of writing). I've noticed some problems with the floating edit boxes when constructing a page.
Basically...
- create a page
- add a block onto the page, doesn't matter what
- make the browser window smaller so that some of the block is clipped
The point is that on other browsers, the modal-block floats into the middle of the page regardless of the browser window size. On Safari it seems to stay in a fixed position. More to the point the 'Save' button can be rendered invisible. It's fine for me - I have a huge monitor but I can imagine it being a problem on smaller screens, e.g. laptops.

Hello Howard,
Do you have the latest minor release installed for your version of Mahara? We fixed that in the latest minor point updates for 1.9, 1.10 and 15.04.
Cheers

For the record, this was Bug 1483094, "Block config popup offset in safari is wrong": https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1483094
We didn't backport it to 1.9 or 1.10, though. Only 15.04. So if you're experiencing this problem in Mahara 1.9 or 1.10, let us know. :)
Cheers,
Aaron
