I am looking at Mahara for student eportfolios for my new school in the Netherlands.

I really want to set up a test site with Mahara on it for a small number of users 30-50. I know I could use the test area but really need to have it not reset and information deleted.

Does anyone have an guidelines or notes as to how I might be able to create this or perhaps a link to a website that explains how (that I could forward to our admin tech people)

Many thanks

Gideon

Hello Gideon,

You can take a look at the wiki page for installing Mahara: https://wiki.mahara.org/index.php/System_Administrator%27s_Guide/Installing_Mahara

We recommend to set Mahara up on a Linux server.

Cheers

Kristina

Mahara is a pretty standard PHP + Postgres/MySQL web application, so if your admin tech people are at all familiar with setting up web applications, it shouldn't be too hard. The page that Kristina linked to has detailed instructions. Smile
