I just realized I made a mistake in this posting when I said users must belong to exactly one institution. There is actually an admin setting to allow users to belong to multiple institutions: http://manual.mahara.org/en/1.7/administration/config_site.html#index-6

so in general, I can use Groups  for my FACULTY purpose.. Since  the client is a single institution (not a university ), there is no need of using Instituion, right?

Each Faculty I can assign them as GROUP and add students to those groups. am I correct?

Hello Jeevan,

Judging from the information you sent earlier, I think you can do everything with groups. Since I also assume that you only want to install one Moodle, this would be the best course of action.
