Anonymising submissions to Moodle

Hello,

Is there a way to anonymise student work that is submitted and accessed via the Moodle integration?

I can see there is a way for the student to anonymise their portfolio via configuration/settings, but when I test this, the copy of the portfolio that's created and accessed via Moodle is de-anonymised.

Hi Meg,

Thank you for your question. I suspect that when a copy is made of the portfolio, the default option for the name display is used rather than what was configured for the original portfolio. Preventing the name to show on the page is an easy thing to fix also for the copy. Alternatively, when a submission into Moodle requires anonymisation of the name on a portfolio page, the name could be hidden 'on the fly' for when the assessor looks at it, but when you share the portfolio with someone else, they do see your name.

However, if they have an image of themselves in the portfolio, a PDF certificate with their name etc. that information would still be displayed. Since the portfolio is a personal reflection of themselves, removing all identifying information may not be possible as students wouldn't be able to share any certificates they received, pictures of themselves etc. Those are things that we would not be able to anonymise or even hide without the system reading the content and masking that information.

Would the selected assessment method that requires anonymisation be the right one for assessing a portfolio?

Thank you

Kristina
