Hi everyone,

Recently, I interviewed Prof Dr Mike Altieri from OTH Amberg-Weiden in Bavaria, Germany. He's been using the reflection bot Riff with his students and talked to me about his experience with it. You might remember Riff from episode 24 when I talked to its creator, Dr Leticia Britos Cavagnaro. She also facilitated an AAEEBL webinar on it. You can find all the links in the episode's show notes.

With Riff, reflection questions are personalised to the students, taking into account what they had said in previous responses of the conversation. In contrast to prompting a general chat bot to help with the reflection, Riff has a reflection model built in and thus the initial prompting and setup has been done. All that's needed is an initial question by the lecturer and students can start.

Riff can be embedded as external media to add it to a portfolio template. Once finished reflecting with Riff, students can post the summary or the full conversation that they can email to themselves in their portfolio.

I invite you to listen to Mike's episode wherever you subscribed to for audio podcasts or on the episode's web page.

Thank you

Kristina
