Hello Mahara community,

I'm delighted to share with you that the Mahara core team has a new team member whom many of you may still remember.

We welcome Penny Leach back in a new role as Relationship Manager to support our Catalyst.Net clients in Europe and our Business Partners. Penny was one of the first developers of Mahara and instrumental in laying the groundwork for the platform. With Penny living in Germany, it will be easier to have conversations during normal business hours for our European clients and Business Partners.

Penny's role is of a strategic nature and focuses on growing the understanding and use of Mahara in Europe. This includes active relationship management with key clients and Business Partners, engaging with community members in in-person and virtual events, facilitating training opportunities for community members, surfacing partnership opportunities to support the further development of Mahara through additional funding and grants.

I'm excited to have Penny re-join the Mahara core team in Aotearoa New Zealand, working remotely from Germany. With her, those of you in Europe, will now have one of our team members work in your time zone, facilitating conversations.

Kia ora / hi / servus and thank you Kristina for introducing me :) I'm really glad to be back "home" in the Mahara project after a long time in the wilderness (away from my roots in open source education work). Really looking forward to getting back up to speed and meeting and working with you all!
