Hi,

We have changed our Moodle URL, which connected Mahara through MNET.

Now we cannot access Mahara via Moodle networking; we need to update a few settings (Moodle New URL on Mahara). However, we have no idea how to do this, we have tried to look for possible places and updated it with the Moodle URLs in the Mahara DB tables, but the site breaks appreciate it if someone could guide us on how we can achieve this.

Hi Shiv,

Changing the URL in the database is not enough and not recommended.

1. Regenerate the public key in Moodle. Because your URL changed, the public key is invalid and doesn't match the URL any more.
2. Paste that into your authentication method for MNet in Mahara besides changing the URL there for your institution.
3. Save the institution settings.

Once you have that working, I recommend though you think about moving to LTI. It is more powerful than MNet and more supported.

Hi Kristina, 

Thank you so much for the info. Unfortunately, we are unable to locate how to regenerate the certificate; appreciate it if you could provide us with the steps, please.

We can see the public key under site admin-> Networking->Peers->Home-Mahara under "Review host details", but there is no regenerate option.

Hi Shiv,

The Moodle public key needs to be regenerated, not your Mahara one. You can do that in Moodle at /admin/mnet/index.php (Site administration > Networking > Settings) by deleting the current key.
