Mahara 22.10 is available

Kia ora,

Somewhere it's still 31 October 2022 and thus time to release Mahara 22.10. We are excited to make this new version of Mahara available.

Highlights in Mahara 22.10 include:

  • Usability and accessibility improvements
  • Font Awesome 6 icons and Bootstrap 5
  • Report over SmartEvidence statuses
  • 'Quick edit' option on 'Files', 'PDF', and 'Course completion' blocks for faster editing
  • Export accounts via CLI
  • Move accounts from one institution to another via CSV
  • Experimental PHP 8.1 support

The Mahara manual is in the process of being updated with these and other new features as well as changed functionality. We expect to have that done within the next month.

How to install or upgrade

Supported releases

Mahara 21.10 and 22.04 are still supported for security updates. The support for Mahara 21.04 ends now, and there was one final minor point release along with this major release. Support for Mahara 21.10 will end in April 2023, and Mahara 22.04 will be supported until October 2023. Mahara 22.10 will receive updates until April 2024.

We recommend you upgrade to 22.10 as that gives you the longest support time frame at the moment. If your organisation uses Mahara 21.10 or 22.04, you can stay on either version until their support runs out. If you cannot upgrade to a supported version of Mahara right away, you can purchase our extended security support.

All site administrators running a supported version of Mahara are encouraged to subscribe to our security announcements.
