Hi everyone,

Today I'm sharing a non-Mahara event, but think that it will resonate with many of you as there are many connections to ePortfolio work. You can still submit proposals to this free event until this Friday, 18 March 2022. Last year's event was a great success with presentations, workshops, and lots of opportunities for discussion.

We invite you to join us for our second annual Online Equity Conference that will take place virtually from April 27 to April 29, 2022. We welcome equity-minded students, educators, staff and leaders who represent colleges, universities, non-profit organizations and vendors from all around the world. Our goals are 1) to increase the visibility of all efforts to increase learning equity in higher education and 2) to bring together institutions that want to share and adopt equitable practices for all online students globally.

REGISTER: Please register via our online form. Conference participation will be FREE to make it accessible for everyone. Sessions will be spread throughout the day and recorded to accommodate busy schedules and global time zones. All you need to do is sign up!

ANSWER THE CALL FOR PROPOSALS (Deadline: EOD 3/18/21): You may also propose a session for the conference - either a 45 min live Zoom session or 5-10 min recorded Zoom poster session. Our conference will include three types of activities to mirror the scaffolded learning process from Peralta's Online Equity Training:

  • Day 1 - LEARN - Propose a live or recorded PRESENTATION to share an equity strategy or equity initiative
  • Day 2 - ANALYZE - Propose a live or asynchronous DISCUSSION about an equity topic
  • Day 3 - BUILD - Propose a live WORKSHOP focused on increasing equity in our classes
