There is no way to enter a link to an already existing Online Profile Image.
In Mahara often images can be pulled from other websites but that functionality is missing in the Profile Image Page (Box). It even says that the Avatar is the default profile image (which also gets pulled for an online resource via linking to it) but it does not display the profile image in a Resume.

It is actually good when people can manage their own image spaces as images and videos usually take a whole lot of space and are difficult to estimate in advance. It would be great if it would be possible that also a Profile image could be pulled from an Image which i.e. already exists on Flickr, Google Photos etc. To make them switchable i.e. 5 Profile images can be uploaded - also 5 Linked images should be possible, which than get pulled from another online storage resource.

Hi Andi,

Mahara supports Gravatar, which you can enable in Admin menu -> Configure site -> Site options -> Account settings. If you have a specific custom avatar service, you can configure that in the config.php file (see the 'Help' icon for more information next to 'Display remote avatars').
