Mahara not creating accounts with LDAP
02 February 2021, 22:43
Hello,
I have installed and configured Mahara 20.10 and want to used the auto creation of accounts with LDAP feature. Through the user doesn't needs to sign up instead he can directly log in to the Mahara portfolio.
I have set the LDAP as the authentication plugin in the institution settings and have also enabled the auto creation of accounts.
Still when I log in with an account which is present in the institution directory and is working elsewhere but in mahara it says wrong credentials.
Looking forward for any help in this regard.

Hi Muhammad,
Do you see anything in the error log? Did you confirm that the connection to the LDAP directory has been established correctly, i.e. that Mahara can 'talk' to LDAP? I believe, typically you would need to tell LDAP that requests from Mahara are allowed.
Thanks
Kristina

Hello,
I have now fixed this issue. The problem was when creating the LDAP in the institution it was automatically filling the Distinguished name and password. By emptying those fields everything worked for me.

Hi Muhammad,
Great that it was an easy thing to fix.
Best,
