Relationship between smart evidence and annotation is broken
01 January 2021, 3:41
Hi,
The relationship between smart evidence and annotation is broken when copying a collection to a different institution.
Original
What was copied
In the copied state, all items are displayed as bars.
Items for which annotations have been saved once change to circles.

Hi AB-Net,
It looks like you can't perform any actions on that collection. Can you please check if the user you're logged in with is the owner of the collection?
Cheers,
Cecilia

Hi AB-Net,
Can you please provide the steps that took you to arrive at the scenario that you think is incorrect so we can replicate them? There are a few different display options depending on the permissions you have that decide when you see the bars and when you can assess something. Therefore, it would really help to know:
- What did the original look like?
- Who copied it where?
- Who was looking at it for the second screenshot?
- Had any changes been made to the collection after the initial copying?
Recently, I reported to bugs for SmartEvidence:
- When you copy a collection with SmartEvidence, all annotations come along as well
- Copying a portfolio with SmartEvidence into the group/institution/site level throws errors
They may not be fully related to the problem you experience.
Thank you
Kristina

Hi Kristina,
> What did the original look like?
That is the first screen capture.
> Who copied it where?
I copied.I am site administrator.
I copied a collection from an institution to a different institution.
> Who was looking at it for the second screenshot?
I look at it for the second screenshot.
> Had any changes been made to the collection after the initial copying?
After copying, all items were "-".
When I re-saved the first annotation, only the first item became "○".
>Thank you.

Hi,
Usually, SmartEvidence is only used in the personal portfolio area, but annotations are not added on the site or institution level. When you copy a SmartEvidence collection from a personal portfolio area where you can add annotations to the institution level, there is an error message. That problem has been fixed for the upcoming version of Mahara and you can backport it to your own Mahara instance.
Cheers
Kristina
