We are running  Mahara v19.04 on RedHat6 with Postgres 9.6.

We have the French language pack installed in our dataroot, nothing else. Now our instructors are trying to enter Japanese char in Comments box, and the characters are not readable after the save.

Any ideas what needed to be done to make the multiple languages input recognized and saved properly?

- language packs?

- system locale?

- DB (postgres) collation?

Hi Bei,

The language input shouldn't change with you installing another language pack. Please check that the database is on UTF8.

Can one of your instructors who has the problem also give it a go on our demo site? It's not running Mahara 19.04 but 20.04, yet would still be good to see if it is some other issue they are having.
