Capabilities and group roles

Hey everyone,

I'd like to hide the editing buttons (like change role and remove member) on the group members page for some group admins so they can't change members. I understand there is no role- and capability-system like in Moodle, but is there any way I can do this smoothly? I'd like my admins to have other group admin rights like editing forum posts (so the totur role in Mahara 20 doesn't work as well). I read that in Mahara 20 you can set new account roles via SAML. Would this be a possibility? Or any other ideas?

Hi Stefanie,

You could set up a 'course' group (in group settings under 'Roles') and then give your teachers the 'tutor' role. That way then can still perform a number of assessment tasks but don't have full group admin permissions.
