Hi,

in one of our courses the teacher uses the new group plans. The students are supposed to copy the page and answer the teachers questions like it's ment do be. But they found another way in adding a file with their answer in the comment field of the page. Because this is not the idea of mahara I thought of deactivating the comment field so their are forced to create a nice page. I tried different ways: (1) Deactivating the comment field in the private area before conecting the page the a template. (2) Deactivating the comment field in the linked page in the group area. But the results were the same. When the page was copied by a student the comment field was activated again.

Are there any ideas how I can solve this problem?

Hi Christine,

Thanks for trying out the new plans functionality.

The setting for deactivating comments sits in the sharing permissions on 'Edit access'. That area is reset when someone copies a portfolio and thus students will have the commenting area available again unless they remove it. I created a wishlist item to deal with that.
