No, Christos, nothing worked out for me, so I decided to recreate the users(

I tried to delete a user and then test if it can be recreated in mahara from moodle. Unfortunately that does not work either.

I was thinking if an update to php caused that.

In my case I have php 7.2 on both (mahara and moodle) hosts.
Another option -  upgrade to 19.10 and try.

Hello,

I upgrade to both latest 19.04 and 19.10. The problem remains. I also enabled MNET debug to check if there is an error message in moodle and MNET. everything seems in order. The only think I found odd is the MNET response in encoding:

MNET DEBUG (server XXXXXXXXXXXXX)

xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"? Since the error has to do with chars it might be related.

Hi Christos,

In Mahara we always use utf8 for the encoding. I don't know if that is the issue but it could be worthwhile checking. I'm afraid though that I don't know how to replicate the issue to check what my encoding is.

Cheers

Kristina
