Cannot Edit Access in Rev 19.04

08 June 2019, 8:04

Hello,

When I attempt to give another user access to my collection, the fields to search for a user and the From and TO dates do not display after I select User under the SHARED WITH title. I ran my browser development tools and received these errors on the console screen:

select2.full.js?v=3622:6415 The select2('val') method was called on an element that is not using Select2.

select2.full.js?v=3622:6421 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'val' of undefined    at HTMLSelectElement.<anonymous> (select2.full.js?v=3622:6421)
    at Function.each (jquery.js?v=3622:2)
    at w.fn.init.each (jquery.js?v=3622:2)
    at w.fn.init.$.fn.select2 (select2.full.js?v=3622:6411)

    at HTMLSelectElement.dispatch (jquery.js?v=3622:2)

Is this a bug in 19.04?

Thank you for your time.

Best,
Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Which browser and operating system are you using, please?

It doesn't sound like you have this problem though. But could you please double check? You may wish to install the patch that Robert provided. It will b in the next minor point release, but you can check it out on a test server to give it a go.

Cheers

Hi Kristina,

I have attempted editing access using two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) with the same results. The fields do not display to allow entering information. Our operating system is Linux.

The bug with the datepicker is not the issue because I do not even get the fields displayed to be able to click on it.

Here is the screen shot from Rev 19.04 (my test system).

Here is a screen shot from Rev 18.04 (my production system). See how the fields display.

You suggested I install the patch that Robert provided. Where do I get Robert's patch?

Best,

Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Part of the datepicker problem is it would break the javascript for the page and so not display the dates fields

My patch can be seen here: https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/10074/3

The cherry-pick is: git fetch https://reviews.mahara.org/mahara refs/changes/74/10074/3 && git cherry-pick FETCH_HEAD

Hi Robert,

My tech guy updated our test system to latest stable revision (19.04.1). Unfortunately, the fields are still not displaying when I select User on the Edit Access screen.

Any other suggestions? We were hoping to upgrade our production system with this revision before the new semester begins the end of August.

Best,

Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Currently only 19.04.0 is released - we are planning on doing a 19.04.1 release either this week or next week. The fix will be part of that release

Cheers
