Hello Mahara community,

It is time for a new Mahara release. We'd like to invite you to take a closer look at Mahara 19.04 before we release it at the end of the month.

The first preview version of Mahara 19.04 is available for download. You can download this version or access it on Git. If you do not have a test server available where you can install it, you are welcome to check it out at https://master.dev.mahara.org.

Please report any issues you come across as soon as possible to us via Launchpad, along with information on reproducing the issue. We will review your reports and decide whether any of these issues would need to be fixed before the stable release of Mahara 19.04.0. If bugs are found that are critical to the working of Mahara, we may produce another release candidate. Otherwise, this release candidate will become the final 19.04.0 release.

Mahara 19.04 will have numerous new features. They are all listed on Launchpad with the "nominatedfeature" tag.

Some new feature highlights are:

  • Editor for SmartEvidence frameworks
  • Isolated institutions
  • Upgrade to Bootstrap 4
  • Revised page header
  • Forum post attachments
  • Moderation of forum posts
  • Disallowing unsubscribing from forum posts
  • Opening of links in a new tab or window

Currently, we are updating the Mahara user manual. Stay tuned for an update on that.

You can view a list of all the bugs that have been fixed and new features that will go into Mahara 19.04.

We look forward to your feedback on the new features, and the installation or upgrade process.

Cheers

P.S. Since this is a preview version, we don't recommend installing it on a production system. If critical issues are found, we may need to make some changes. We are not guaranteeing data integrity between this preview version and Mahara 19.04.0.
