Hello everyone,

Hope the day is going on well.

I read on the docs using LTI for integration between Moodle and Mahara. Though I was able to do an integration during my pilot phase in which I created the users in Moodle, linked Mahara.

When I clicked the link in Moodle it took me to Mahara but I couldn't go to Moodle from Mahara, so my guess was that something is missing.

Reading on, I read about SAML2 SSO setup as a second login between the application. I want to ask that is it compulsory to have this additional login layer for LTI to function well it not?

Kristina, I appreciate every answers you've given as regarding my questions.

Hello Kehinde,

LTI only works from Moodle to Mahara, but not the other way around. In contrast to MNet, LTI doesn't put a link back to Moodle anywhere when you authenticated from Moodle to Mahara.

SAML is not necessary to be used with LTI. It is an option to allow people to log in directly via Mahara instead of always needing to go via Moodle.

Cheers

Kristina
