Your new terms and conditions and privacy statement went into effect today. When you enter your mahara.org account the next time, you will be asked to review them before you can continue into your account. If you do not accept our new legal statements, your account will be suspended and deleted to protect your privacy.

You will continue to receive forum notifications until you unsubscribe from a forum. The Mahara team does not subscribe you to forums in the official community groups automatically. It is up to you to subscribe to them in order to receive notifications via email.

At the Mahara project we are dedicated to keep your personal information secure and private. On Mahara.org you typically only share your first and last name (or a display name of your own choosing) and your profile picture with others in the community. No other information like email address is displayed unless you decide to share that with other people.

New privacy regulations are going to take effect in the European Union on 25 May 2018. To prepare for them, we have reviewed our current practices for Mahara and made a number of changes to safeguard your personal information even more than before. If you want to find out about the improvements we made to the Mahara software in our latest version, Mahara 18.04 that was released on 6 April 2018, please take a look at the new features.

No matter whether you are a resident in the EU or live elsewhere in the world, you will benefit from the privacy changes.

We look forward to continuing to work with you on improving Mahara and keeping it relevant for learners around the world. If you do decide to leave the community site and don't want to keep your account on mahara.org, you can delete it at any point in time.
