Kia ora,

At the last KiwiMUG meeting in Tauranga, we heard from two institutions how they onboard students and lecturers to ePortfolios during the birds of a feather session. The two metaphors that were used were:

• Backstage / performance
• Murder story

I know that Massey University uses the museum metaphor and that Sigi explained how to use Mahara via her fridge.

That makes a good number of different metaphors, and I think a good opportunity to collect them in the next newsletter.

If you have a favorite metaphor for explaining portfolios and you want to share it, please send it. We can also add them to the user manual for a bit more permanent exposure.
