Picture on group homepage - visible vor non-members
29 April 2017, 23:54
Greetings from Germany
Sometimes Group Admins wants to use a picture on the group startpage.
(A picture is worth a thousand words)
The solution we found to make the the picture visible for non-members is, to put the picture in the site-files.
But we don't want to give users the possibilty to upload files in site-files.
I there another possibilty?
Maybe a feature regquest?
Regards
Jochen

Hello Jochen,
I can upload a picture to a group homepage and a non-group member can see that picture. Can you please give it a go on the demo site at https://demo.mahara.org and go through the same steps as on your site?
What are the permissions on the file that is not displayed? Did you upload it to the group space or to you personal space?
Cheers
Kristina

Hello Kristina,
i have sent you information and accounts via e-mail to our demosite, because your demosite is down?
If we found the faults i will post here.

It's me again.
I think i have found the problem.
The picture will not shown on group settings page in group-description field.
If i use a text-block and insert a picture from group-files a non-member of this group can see the picture.
Very strange.

Jochen

Hello Jochen,
Thank you for the updates. I filed a bug for the images in the group description. Please have a look and let us know your opinion. I can see two possibilities going forward.
