New Errors in 16.10 with Chrome

This error has begun to show in the latest forum blocks {"error":"global","message":"Reload the page to log in","returnCode":1}

and Chrome keeps asking to login when following an internal link to any page. Everything works fine in Firefox but not in Chrome 55.0.2883.87.

I am not seeing any errors in the logs and chrome is not reporting any issues.

Just an FYI

I restarted Chrome and the issue seems to have disappeared for me but I have a client who is still having the issue. Seems to be an issue with the latest Chrome update.

Hello Patric,

Happy new year, too.

I can't see a problem on my local machine and when using demo.mahara.org when using Chrome 55.0.2883.87 on Ubuntu. Links in the "Recent forum posts" block take me to the forums or directly to the forum posts.

Can you please a) try on demo.mahara.org yourself and if the problem is there as well for you, b) provide testing instructions and the operating system you used?

Thank you

Kristina

Hi Patric,

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having.

We had a similar (but I think different) issue last year:

* https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=7636

* https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1592236

Can you check the cookies in your Chrome browser? There should only be one cookie for Mahara with path: /

Also, please make sure that you have a trailing '/' at the end $cfg->wwwroot in your config.php file:

i.e. $cfg->wwwroot = 'https://yoursite.com/';

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,

Ghada

Hi, I think we have a similar sort of problem with the 16.10.2 upgrade,

I'm not seeing all the forums from different groups 'live' from the RSS feed on their respective group pages. On some pages  the forums display as working links, on others just plain text. This appears in both Firefox and Chrome.

Hello David,

Did you check the suggestions that Ghada had made?

Thank you

Kristina

Thanks Kristina. Yes did check that out but it didn't seem to make any difference. The 'recent forum posts'block works fine in all our instances, as does the journal block.  But some RSS isn't displaying. I just created an example at

Have I made a mistake somewhere? Regards

Thanks,

Always have had the trailing slash so that is not the issue. I have had this issue re-occur 3 times now and restarting Chrome is the only fix.
