Hi everyone

Before reporting a bug in the tracker, I first want to ask whether other users have the same issue as we have: When our students want to share a view or collection to someone using Microsoft Edge on Windows 10, they can select a group or a user, but then are not able to save. When using IE 11 on Windows 10, everything works as expected. Note: We have had the issue on Mahara 1510 and Mahara 1604.

Hello Samuel,

I just tried on http://www.portfoliocommunities.com which is a 16.04 and I was able to share to both groups and individuals on Microsoft Edge browser.

I can reproduce the issue on demo.mahara.org. 

@ Dirk: Did you change some Edge-settings?

I think it would make sense if others could test the issue on demo.mahara.org...

The functionality works as expected under Windows 10 and In Edge 13 using demo.mahara.org

Could it be that your students select "Groups" or "Users" under the "Search for..." drop-down menu item and then don't select a group or user in the next field that comes up when you have one those search options selected?

When I select "Groups / Users" and put an actual group name or person's name into the second box, the form saves properly. However, if I only select "Groups / Users" but don't provide the search term, nothing happens.

Can you please clarify? Maybe it's easier to do a little screencast if you prefer.

I can reproduce this on demo.mahara.org

No changes to Edge were made.

Can you please provide your test instructions so I can follow them and see if I can replicate the issue. So far I haven't been able to.

for sure....I create new page, I click 'Share with' and I search for and select you. Clicking 'Save' does nothing. Same is true when trying to save with a group. Can't tell about 'Friends' as I don't have any.

I can successfully share with 'Public' , and  'Registered users' however. I am unable to select 'Institutions' or 'Groups' at the bottom of list.

Hello Dirk,

Thank you for the instructions. I could now replicate it on my local instance for 15.10, 16.04 and master. I created https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1597117

You wouldn't be able to select "Institutions" or "Groups" at the bottom because you are not a member of an institution or have a group set up. In the top bit you can search for individuals, in the bottom bit you can only select institutions or groups if there are any.
