Mahara 16.04 ready to test
01 April 2016, 17:46
Hello Mahara community,
It's the first of the month of April, and it's no joke: The first release candidate for Mahara 16.04 is available for you to take a closer look at. The release of the stable version is set for the second half of April, which doesn't leave us much time, but with your help, we'll make it happen.
If you've followed the project for a while, you will know that the release candidate is your chance to test drive the new and changed features of Mahara before we finalize the release and make it available to everyone as 16.04.0. We'd love for you to help us test Mahara 16.04 while it's in release candidate mode to make it more robust. We still have a bit of time to fix big issues.
If you have the chance to set up a Mahara instance on a test server or upgrade your site on a test server (not your live production site!), you can download the release candidate at
https://launchpad.net/mahara/+milestone/16.04rc1
New features for the release candidate are listed on Launchpad with the "nominatedfeature" tag:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bugs?field.milestone%3Alist=73426&field.tag=nominatedfeature
As usual, there's been also a lot of bug fixing again in this release. You can see a list of all changes so far for 16.04 at
If we fixed bugs that affect you, now is your chance to test that the changes work.
In case you find new bugs, please report them on Launchpad so they can consider to fix them before the 16.04.0 release:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+filebug
You can use the developer instance to check out the new features of Mahara if you can't install it yourself.
If important bugs are found within the next week, we may produce a second release candidate. Otherwise this release candidate will become the final 16.04.0 release.
Cheers

Hello,
We've released the second release candidate for Mahara 16.04 and would like to thank everyone who's contributed to the testing of the first release candidate and provided patches.
You can download the second release candidate at https://launchpad.net/mahara/+milestone/16.04rc2 and perform more testing. We've also updated http://master.dev.mahara.org with the latest code so you can test on that site if you cannot set up your own testing site.
We are looking at releasing Mahara 16.04 next week and thus your testing would be appreciated.
Cheers
