Does Mahara issue new notification every time journal is edited?

Hello

We're on version 1.10.7   The scenario is this: A student is doing a research blog, has placed it on a page and has shared page with tutor.

I've had a discussion this morning with the tutor who expected to get a new notification every time the blog is edited (and is convinced this used to happen).   Can anyone tell me if he's right?  I have no memory of that happening in previous versions.
