We would like to see if some development could be done in the NOTES tab in the CONTENT area of Mahara.

Currently the columns in the NOTES area shows NOTE, TITLED and CONTAINED IN.

1.  Is it possible to have a NEW NOTE button on the right hand side (like NEW PLAN)

2.  Can TITLED be renamed something like:  NOTE TITLE

3.  Can CONTAINED IN be renamed something like: CONTAINED IN PAGE or PAGE NAME

4.  Can the NOTE column be removed as it is quite confusing to students

This will bring it consistent with the other sub titles in the Content Button.

Hello Lisa,

Thank you for your questions. The current "Note" implementation does not have a "New" button because notes are traditionally created only on a page and then transferred into the "Notes" area. However, that is cumbersome as you are expecting to be able to create notes like you create any other content item. So I'd say that "New note" button would be a good idea.

Numbers 2 and 3 would also be good ideas.

Number 4 is a bit tricky because then we would loose the link to the note for changing it. The "Titled" column only displays the title of the notes in their particular page. However, we need something to bind them together as one note could have a different title in the 5 instances it is being used. The purpose of the notes is that they are re-usable and thus that relationship needs to be shown somehow. Therefore, I think we should not remove that column.

Do you want to check with Jawyei if he wants to implement 1-3 and submit it for review to our review system for Mahara 15.10?

Jawyei managed to do 2 and 3, but requires a lot more time for number 1.  

Can we submit number 1 as a feature request please?
