It seems there is some type of permissions on files or images. The images I am having a problem with are 50kb jpg files I have uploaded to my files and have added them inside text blocks, they show up fine for me but other users (who have permission within the collection settings) can not see them. What is causing this? How do I fix it?

One of the main reasons that I like to put images into text blocks is you can create buttons or just add hyperlinks to images

Hello Simha,

When you link to a file that sits in your files area via the URL, Mahara cannot recognize it as a file in its own site and thus the file does not receive the proper sharing permissions in order to be viewable by others. You can see the files because they sit in your files area, but others can't.

Mike is working on a solution for choosing Mahara's own images more easily. See a video of the proof-of-concept at https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=6221&offset=10 and you can also check out the code that is currently under review if you have a developer environment.

So as of now you can not create buttons or hyperlinked images

Hello Simha,

Mhh. The image display has always been flaky and we've made some adjustments over time, but some are not always displayed. That's why I thought of that in the beginning, but remembering where we use images directly, I did some more testing as we do use images in a text box (the page description) at https://mahara.org/partners successfully. That site is on Mahara 1.9. But when I put images into the description or a text box on Mahara 1.10, I get broken images.

Maybe it is related to the new TinyMCE editor?
