We're using Mahara 1.9.3 and will probably upgrade to 1.10 in the new year.

I have sussed out how to create a controlled membership group which will include all the graduating seniors from a certain subject major together with the teaching faculty for that major. I have assigned the role of 'tutor' to all the Teachers, while the students have member role.  I have two questions:

  1. Is it possible to have a Forum or individual posts within a forum that is visible to just the Tutor + Administrator role ? It would be very handy for Teachers to make comments in the Forum that were only visible to other Tutors.
  2. When placing feedback to a submitted page, is it possible to use a previously uploaded file from the Files area?

Thanks

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your questions.

Currently, it is not possible to restrict a forum to just certain group members either based on their role or by selecting specific names. You would need to set up a separate group for them if you didn't want students to see tutor comments. I created a wishlist item for it at https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1393234 Please add any other comments that you may have there or here.

As for feedback, you will need to upload the file each time. There is already a wishlist item on our tracker at https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/916687 to allow for choosing of a file from your files area.

Cheers

Kristina
