Hi, We are on v. 1.6, php 5.3.10, mysql 5.1.54

When I try to embed a google doc using the Embed External Content block:

I share the google doc, and mark it public. I publish it to the web, and copy the embed code.

I paste the embed code into the External Content block, and save.

This is the result:

http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/mahara/view/view.php?t=kjauYosLxZAhcrqit8dT

I have not had any success with google docs, but I can get google calendar and maps to work. Any ideas?

Hi Marylena,

There are a couple of things to check:

1. If you're embedding it using the External Content block rather than the Google Apps block, make sure that "docs.google.com" is in your list of allowed iframe sources ( http://manual.mahara.org/en/1.6/administration/extensions.html#index-12 )

2. This one's kind of unlikely, but if the embed code uses a scheme-relative iframe URL (i.e. "//docs.google.com" rather than "http://docs.google.com") you'll need to make sure you've got Mahara 1.6.7 or later installed. But I think Google Doc's embed codes are still scheme-specific, so this wouldn't happen unless you manually made the URL scheme-relative.

Cheers,

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for your reply. I checked the extensions and it seems that I didn't have exactly that one entered, so I added it to the list. But, now it looks like this:

http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/mahara/view/view.php?t=kjauYosLxZAhcrqit8dT

Any idea why the formatting would be funky?

Best,
Marylena

Okay, I adjusted the height and width in the iframe and now it looks about right. I've got all kinds of google docs in there now!

Thanks for your help!

Marylena
