Hi

Please can someone help me.  I am the network manager in a school and we have moved our mahara from county onto a server in school.  Each of the students has exported their portfolio as an leap2a file and has the file ready to upload back into the new system.

The new server has been attached to active directory which was not possible before as the server is now on site.

How do the individual students now import there portfolio back into the new mahara.

I cannot find an import tab as the user and I can only find an export button.

We are using Mahara version 1.7.

Please can someone help.

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard

Up to 1.7 only admin can import Leap2A files into Mahara, and it creates a new user at each import.

The upcoming new 1.8 version will offer an import feature available for users.

1.8 is on the final stage of its's development and you would be vale to update soon.

If you are in a hurry, vas an admin, you could collect all your students' export Leap2A files and import them in a bulk. You will find a complete explanation on how to achieve that in the 1.7 user manual online.

Regards.

Hello Richard,

Mahara 1.8 has been released today. :-) There, users can import Leap2A files on their own (see http://manual.mahara.org/en/1.8/portfolio/import.html ). Your students should review their imported portfolios to make sure that everything is there before they delete the Leap2A files from their computers.

The experimental feature for bulk export and import of portfolios as site admin is documented at http://manual.mahara.org/en/1.7/administration/experimental.html

Cheers

Kristina
