I'm currently trying to install Mahara but I cannot finish the installation process. Everything works fine until I get to the "Administration page". Then every link (e.g. "site options", "edit site pages") is redirected  to .../mahara/admin/ so that I have to stay on the Administration page. I cannot login, only the few external links work.

I get the warning: Your server has the php open_basedir restriction enabled. Some requests for external sites may fail to complete. This could stop certain feeds from updating among other things.

Since I work in a public Institute, I have no influence on this setting, unfortunately. Can it be that the installation fails because of this?

Hi Alex,

If it's a brand new installation, before embarking on any troubleshooting I would recommend just deleting everything and trying it again. Very often that resolves the problem.
