Hi,

I have a student who is trying to export their portfolio, but it just hangs at the Progress Bar and looking at the page, it looks like it hangs at page 3 of 10 in the portfolio export.

The 3rd page has 6 images and 9-10 comments (although unticking the comments box makes no difference).

Is there a limit on how much can be exported (is this related to the site file upload limit)?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wullie,

What version of Mahara are you running? I know that we fixed an issue with the export where missing files that used to cause the export not to continue would be ignored.

That know the first or I swim in the maze of Mahara, otherwise it is great. It is true that its been 3 days since I Mahara. So I have not done all around Mahara.
New installed Version: 1.7.1 from 03.05.2013 may be the reason for the styles
From there, the style we were reset, the surprise this morning why! Mystery.
  Well I redid my style, then I backup just in case.
The thing that worries me the most know the history of the logo for I deleted via ftp I find myself with error_log, but the story remains

We are using 1.62.

I had a look around the students pages and where I thought there were 6 images, it turns out it's 6 image galleries. Do the image galleries export? (If so, how are these displayed in the exported html files? - curiosity)

Also, the images she has are huge in size (the resize images on upload was not set at the time of the uploads), so 1 page alone is arouind the limit of our Max Upload size. Is this taken into account as an upload?

Any image uploaded counts towards the file quota and the size taken is the one of the image as it is stored on the server. If the students wants to have more space available, she could delete her current photos and either upload smaller ones or tick the resizing option.

I've just noticed that in this link, that the above 100M is a known issue. Can you let me know if this has ever been looked at?

At the moment, this is stopping my students from being able to export their collections (in either HTML or Leap2A) to take away with them as thei have up to 7 collections that they'd like to take away with them.

Is there a setting in php.ini that I can increase for the timeout (or something similar) to get over the problem?

Hi Wullie,

As Kristina said, it is worth to try to increase the time php gives to process before killing it.

You can directly try to set  "memory_limit" in php.ini with a value of "0", which gives no limit of time to php. But change it aftwards to something more reasonable to avoid never-ended scripts blocking your system.

Hi Wullie,

Richard sometimes increased the memory limit on a server where I could not export a very big portfolio. I think he raised "memory_limit" in php.ini.

We did fix a couple of bugs relating to exports that hang when files are missing. These frequently caused timeouts or things not progressing.
