Is it possible to have student IDs not shown in Mahara? We intergrated Moodle and Mahara and it imported all the student information with their IDs. It's important that these IDs are not shown. Thanks for any help with this!

Hello Laura,

That would have to be a customization on your installation. But please note that the student ID is only visible to admins when they are in the "User search". Even though it is in the student profiles, only when the students decide to make that information available on a portfolio page or their profile will others see it.

Thanks for the reply Kristina. This issue is, you cannot get rid of the Student ID, even if you change it within Mahara. The ID that is displayed is always the login ID for Moodle.

Hello Laura,

Do you have "Update user info on login" ticked in the MNet auth method (see #9 in the screenshot at http://manual.mahara.org/en/1.6/administration/institutions.html#xml-rpc-mnet-authentication )? That is usually the reason why your Mahara information is overwritten with the Moodle one when you next log in. I didn't mention the Student ID in the manual because I didn't see it mentioned in the code, but it could definitely be something that Moodle send along.

Though in your second sentence you write "login ID" instead of "student ID". Are these the same by coincidence?
