Profile View URL - where is it?
03 January 2012, 9:57
I have figured out how to find the public URL to other user's profile views, by searching for them... then I am able to get a URL that identifies their account, for example:
http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/mahara/user/view.php?id=15
But in the address bar of my own profile view I am only getting this:
http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/mahara/user/view.php
which does not identify my account in any way. I have made my profile view publcly accessble...
Thanks for your advice!

I found a way to get it - if I sign in to Mahara (1.3) and look in the right column I see my username. My username is linked to my Profile view, and if I click on my name it shows me my Profile view with the right URL, for example:
http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/mahara/user/view.php?id=2412
If I go into my account in My Portfolio/My Views and click on my Profile View there, I get the generic URL like this:
http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/mahara/user/view.php
...which takes me nowhere.
Wanted to update this post so the information is here as a record.
Cheers and Happy New Year!

Hello Deborah,
Thanks for writing the answer to your question here for others to find. I don't know if it is possible to alwasy display the link to your profile page instead of the generic one so that you can immediately grab it instead of having to righ-mouse click onto your name.
That's a question for a developer. Because if it is possible, you could add it as feature wish on our feature tracker.
Cheers

Hello Kristina,
When you mention you can grab the URL of your Profile by right-clicking on your name, in what tab or section of Mahara (1.3) are you able to do that?
Thank you - Deborah

Hello Deborah,
I don't have a 1.3 install, but tried it here on mahara.org and your name in the login box in the right side bar is linked to your profile page.
Cheers
Kristina
