I just finished installing the 1.4 version.   I can see that 96 tables were created.    When I access the site, it takes me to the admin page.    When I try to click on any link, it does nothing...just brings up the admin page again.

Any thoughts?

Steve, my thoughts are that you don't have enough tables.  I just tried a 1.4 install and I have 121.

There are a couple of threads on these forums from people who've had a silent PHP script timeout during installation, and you may be getting the same problem.  You could try dropping & recreating the database, raising your max_execution_time and installing again.

Steve, I had similar problems and following Richards leads I managed to solve it by increasing the max_execution_time.

Good luck in case you have not yet solved it.
