Setting up separate groups for our students. Have made our teachers Administrators of each group and Set Group Type as - Controlled Membership so students cannot unenrol.

When I do this, there is no Request to Join this group button?

Can anyone please tell me what I have done wrong?

Only option seems to change option to Request Membership then change the type once all students are enrolled?

That's indeed one of the limitations of the current group systems.

In Mahara 1.5, we have (hopefully) fixed all of these problems and reworked all of the different types of groups:

Just a little note to the page that Francois refers to: The screens don't look exactly as in the mockups, but the functionality is there.
