Hi,

I received a spam, I ignored it, of course, but I find this more than annoying. Is there anything to be done?

The name of the sender is nana love, if you can picture that!

Same for me from:

loven love 

and there is no way o find the sender to block it.... anyone else getting annoyed?

Hello Sigi and Monica,

Sorry that you had to deal with spam. Unfortunately, some people do fall through the spam filter, especially when humans create these accounts.

If you receive a direct message from a spammer, please forward it to [email protected] and we can block / delete the account.

If you come across an offensive page, you can always click on "report objectionable content" at the bottom of the page and site admins receive a message.

When there are spam entries in the forums, we delete them. Unfortunately, by that time they have already been sent out.

Mahara does have some automatic spam mechanisms in place which already reduce spam, but unfortunately, can't prevent it entirely.
