An API, developed by Catalyst or another contributor, would make life much easier for all this. If there isn't one there, I'm going to end up writing a library probably for my idea (detailed here: http://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=3706#post16641 / look at http://m.facebook.com and http://barclays.mobi - these together are kinda my inspiriation).

I just want to add my +1 to Davids comment.

Look at how moodle uses web services to generate a secure xml-rpc connection between device and server using a token.

I like this methodology as it can, and has, been extended to devices on multiple platforms and encourages the community to create their own varients.

Would like to see an item added to the tracker (yes, Ill add this post as a starter at least) to make mobile development options a bit more open.

In the meantime, how is Maharadroid using the token at the moment?

I have just set this up in Launchpad to at least record it as a feature request and see where it goes to from there. https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/961768
