Another possible approach would be to develop a new block to display in Mahara the contents of a public iCal (Google or not) feed.

Hello Paul,

Gregor's Google plugin is not part of core Mahara and thus not on your installation, MyPortfolio. It would need a code review first (like the Live@Edu plugin as well).

Embedding the google calendar is not available in mahara.

you have to download from http://mahara.org/view/view.php?id=11634.

install in mahara.

it works fine.
