Institution Not recognised

I am working with an upgraded Mahara. (1.33)

Currently there are 677 users.

When I try to add staff, I get a message to make an institution. I already have one.

Am I confused about what an institution is?

If I delete the Institution and remake it, will I lose all my eportfolios?

Deleting and remaking the institution seems like it might be the right thing to do.

Hello Brian,

Sorry for the confusion about institutions. They exist for administrative purposes, cf. http://wiki.mahara.org/index.php?title=Site_Administrator_Guide/Manage_Institutions . Mahara always comes with a default institution. Did you create this institution yourself or do you refer to the standard institution "No Institution"?

Users do not have to be in an institution in order to use Mahara. Thus, you could delete your institution and then put all your members into a new one (or create the new one first and then delete them from the old one).

Sorry abt delay.

I have one institution that I mad when I set up Moodle integration. The authentication is set using xmlrpc. This appears in ...mahara/admin/users/institutions.php as

Egglescliffe School 700 members and the other fields are blank.

When in ...mahara/admin/users/institutions.php administer view, if I click on any of the tabs, I get "No Institutions".

If I add another institution I have zero memebrs in it.

Is this all a consequence of being integrated with Moodle?
