Importing view to Mahara.org
01 November 2010, 1:33
Hi all,
I have successfully exported a view from my institution as a zip file. Is it possible to import that zip file to Mahara.org as my student have a concern after graduation.
Is there any free space on the Web for the students to import the view so their eportfolios will sustain?
Thanks!!
Mike

Hello Mike,
Portfolios can be imported back into a Mahara installation (or any other e-portfolio software that complies with the Leap2A standard) when it's been exported as Leap2A file and not HTML web site.
An administrator can do the import (cf. http://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=2384 and http://wiki.mahara.org/Site_Administrator_Guide/Manage_users/Importing_User_Views ).
Mahara.org is not a free hosting service for portfolios. Currently, I only know that FolioSpaces ( http://www.foliospaces.com/ ) offers free e-portfolio hosting that uses Mahara.

Dear Kristina,
Concerning importing ePortfolios into Foliospaces from Mahara, do you have any idea how to do that on FolioSpaces?
We are using Mahara 1.3 and on Foliospaces I couldn't find the link to import e-portfolios.
Would highly appreciate your help
Regards,
Lama

Hi Lama,
Currently only an administrator can import an ePortfolio in Mahara. If you contact the administrators at FolioSpaces they should be able to assist.

Hello Lama,
Steve is correct. FolioSpaces run on Mahara 1.3 as well. Thus, it should not be problematic. Before you create an account on FolioSpaces, please contact them because an account will be created when your portfolio is imported.
Cheers
Kristina
