I am testing various mahara version for my university, and I hope on next semester (October) it would be ready. My conclusion is that I will be using version 1.3, since there are some great features for students (collections and planns). Still there some questions :

1. I use their student number (student code) as username. How do I prevent student to change their username?
2. On earlier version 1.2.5 I can lock some of the fields (especially firstname, last name and student ID), but on version 1.3 (beta) I cannot lock them. Is it on purpose or just an error?

Hello Sulaiman,

It's definitely a bug that has crept in just very recently. I filed a report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/627219 and the problem should be fixed soon.
