In this site, I look Google search integrated with mahara. How can I do it in my mahara application? Which file I must edited to implement this feature? Please help me...

 And one question, When Mahara version 1.10 will be stable version?

Hi Raymond - it's relatively simple, just get the HTML that google gives you and put it in themes/default/templates/header.tpl at the place you want it.

Note that google's custom search can only search public content, which isn't much in Mahara 1.0. In 1.1 (which is what this site is running), you can have public forums and profile pages which makes the search a little more useful.

As for the 1.1 release - please read this post.

1st of all i couldn't reach the file that can be edited " header.tpl "

2nd i want to know where i could optain the search code and if i obtain it how can i edit it to be suitable for my search

Hi Wael,

'header.tpl' can be found in /var/www/mahara/htdocs/theme/theme-name/templates

Replace theme-name with the theme you are using ('default' for example).

To get the Google search code for your site you need to go here:

http://www.google.com/sitesearch/

Hey Wael,

There are many header.tpl files in Mahara. The path to the header.tpl you have found is used in the leap export.

The header template that affects the front page is located in the path I gave you before (or should be very similar).

okay i understand

but when i tried google search engine i found that this is not what i want to do

i want to configure the search box in the mahara front page

i want to add new search option as name , title or even place

whatever the option i want aclue to this
