Hi all,

We have just rolled out Mahara to all users of our Lappia Moodle install. We intend to use Mahara as an extension of Moodle for social networking, project and group work, traineeship supervision, thesis tutoring and as a network for our alumni. However, at this point we are still in the training phase.

We have networked Mahara 1.3.5 with Moodle 1.9.12 on a Red Hat server and we have experienced no problems so far, other than some I.E. browsers playing nasty with some of the java.

Rgrds,
Paul.

I have both moodle and mahara running on the same windows 2008 server with IIS7, so that was fun. However, I still can't get SSO to work. The moodle side of things is working, but I can't add the institution in mahara. It is telling me it can't resolve the hostname.

Nicholas also posted at https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=4584 with a more specific error message.

I can't do it. My host keeps saying hire a developer to do this! I have done everything in the directions but still get this error with no apparent solution. I am thinking of changing hosting solutions to solve this (and to think I wanted to add Joomla too!):

An error occurred while retrieving the public key from the remote server.
Please ensure that the Application and WWW Root fields are correct, and that networking is enabled on the remote host.
Error retrieving public key, failed with error code 500: The remote site sent us a key that is valid for http://topenglishskills.net/dir instead of their hostname (http://www.topenglishskills.net/dir)

Hello John,

Did you try using the URL without the www? The error message says that the key is only valid for that and not the other. Another possibility might be to ensure that the key is also valid for www.topenglishskills...

Cheers

Greetings Everyone,

I am very new to this topic but I am striving to be better. Initially, I had lots of difficulties installing it but I somehow managed to do it.

My Moodle is 2.3.4+ and Mahara is 1.7 (Dev)

I have prepared a detailed and easy installation step in my BLOG

http://linuxaarif.blogspot.co.uk

I would love to help anyone regarding installation. I did installation in RHEL and CentOS. I would like you to know that SELINUX should be either DISABLE or set it to PERMISSIVE mode until unless your expert with SELINUX.

However, in ubuntu apparmour doesn't really cause much problem.

I have successfully done everything but it seems in latest version there are lots of changes and I am not being able to subit portfolio pages from mahara to moodle.

 Thanks

I have just finished my mahoodle install but heartily rewarded. Errors kind of went like Dataroot, Htaccess, Weird lib error, Realization it was postgres rather than mysql db needed, Standard 'magic quotes error.
