We are testing the latest Mahara version (26.04) upgrading from 25.04, we have a some groups and profiles not display correctly after the upgrade. This can be seen on group/view.php and user/view.php. I have tracked the issue down to calling uses_new_layout on the view. This usually returns true but on boken views it returns false. I have attached 2 screen shots to show the issue (the screen shots are using our theme based on raw, but the issue does happen in the core raw theme).

We have found that opening either item in edit mode will trigger the blocks to be resized and without saving any editing returning to the view of the item displays the item correctly.

Any suggestions why this is happening?

Hi James,

We have a work item in progress to fix that. It will go into the next maintenance release. You are welcome to test it yourself and use it before then.
