I sing and have played the guitar since I was 20 years old, that's a long time, I hope to be good at it one day.  I play every thing from 300 year old folk songs to the latest ballads, the blues are my favourite.  A Maton Guitar is my pride and joy but there many others too, a USA Fender Strat and Fender 12 string several other six string guitars.

My wife and I have a 20 foot trailer sailor called Patch II and a lot of children.

I am a senior Educational Designer working on contracts developing online course on the Moodle format LMS. The Student Learning Centre at Flinder sUNiversity was my last contract, I designed and developed the ELSP groups online course on FLO the Moodle LMS.

I have been a Lecturer in the building, construction & furnishing section, Wall & Ceiling Lining and Fibrous Plastering at TAFESA Gilles Plains Campus. A Learning designer/lecturer for TAFESA Business Services at Pt Adelaide Campus.

During my employment I have been involved in delivering training and assessing,  prevocational, CITB night class participants, apprentices, RPL clients, in a classroom, on-line and in workshop settings.

In 2008 I lead a team in applying for funding and completing an INNOVATIONS08 project, entitled Trade-E-Learning.  Setting up and embedding an on-line training delivery and assessment system (Moodle) for Wall & Ceiling Lining students.  The Moodle course is generic and suitable for all MTT (Mortar Trowel Trade) areas in our BCF section.

2010 CB-A Project Participant, Action & Assessment for Learning, engaging students, training for the Gap and RPL embedding.  delivering a presentation in June 2011 on the project, its outcomes and deliverables as well as th e effects on the BCF section.

As TAFESA spreads its e-learning across the trades these two projects have placed me in a great position to assist, lecturers, new and existing with implementing created resources and courses that they will need to successfully embed these new tools into their own training.

 My goal is to acheive job work life balance within a career that both rewards and challenges me to improve myself, my situation and involves training/educating students, improving resources, delivery options and systems.

Interests

Surfing, sailing, digital photography, skiing, music & singing, learning and using computer programs, travel, teaching students, developing new teaching resources and methods of training delivery.  Engaging students more in their own learning and problems solving. Developing new way to deliver training online.
