Hi,

We share our portfolios through a secret URL. When there are files uploaded, people who read the portfolios cannot just view the files included but need to download them which is quite inconvenient. We have migrated to version 22.10 last summer, previously it wasn't the case apparently. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Hi Gabriella,

Can you let me know how the 'uploaded files' are present on the portfolio? And what sort of files are they? Are they .doc or .pdf files?

Are they added as comment attachments? Or listed in a 'files to download' block? Or are they connected to the portfolio in some other way?

I'll look into this once I've got more context about the type of files and how they are on the portfolio page

Hi Robert, 

Thank you for your reply. They are PDF files. They are in a block with a folder beside it. Please see image below in attachment that shows the file block they are inside.

Hi Gabriella,

The current way the 'folder' or 'files to download' blocks work (as they work in a similar way) has image items display in the popup modal when clicking on the name of the file in the block content but clicking on other file types, such as a PDF file, do not display their contents on the modal.

I'm not sure when this behaviour was different but this current behaviour has been in Mahara since version 22.04. Any changes to this functionality will need to be a custom change and not supported by core Mahara.
