Dear Sir,

We use Mahara 18.10 with PHP 7.2 version. We plan to upgrade Mahara 19.10 . Does 19.10 version support PHP 7.4? If not, does it support PHP 7.3 instead?

Please advise.

Hi William,

Currently Mahara is not fully compatible with PHP 7.3/7.4

There is a patch https://reviews.mahara.org/#/c/10711/ to get older code in the system sorted out and this is due to be merged in the upcoming 20.04.0 version of Mahara  - due out by the end of April

Once that merges then Mahara should be compatible with PHP 7.4

And it should be able to be cherry picked to 19.10 fairly easily

Thanks for your information. This mean existing  19.10.2 version is not fully compatible with PHP 7.3. Next minor version 19.10.3 should be fully compatible with 7.3 version. Correct?

Hello William,

Although the Mahara 19.10 branch was not fully tested with PHP 7.3 it should be compatible.

There was one minor issue found with Mahara and PHP 7.3 compatibility on the development branch and I backported that to 19.10 branch so that fix will be in the next minor point release, which should be out later this week.
